We had a car and all the valet guys were fantastic. They have free in and out privileges which is very nice...and unusual. There is a laundry room in basement which was also very handy. You need 4 dollars total which the front desk can give you. Soap is already provided for each machine.

The only ice machine is in the basement which for the 500 a night we were spending seemed inconvenient. The mini bar is packed like a vending machine so you cannot chill anything of your own. The restaurant bar is basic and unappealing. There is free wifi in the nice open lobby but you can't bring a glass of wine out there.so hanging out is really not possible. Our room was very small for the price.

Our main reason for returning to this hotel is not for the location as it was a little far from times for shopping but as our stays in New York have always been pleasant, relaxing and comfortable at the Marriott Upper East side we could not come to New York without staying there again. This is our 3rd time to New York from Australia and 3rd time staying there.The staff are exceptional , they help in any way possible.They are more than just friendly, they make you feel more than welcome and even printed maps for us to find different stores that we could find following the map rather than our memory. The pool is my favourite with the warm spa and cool pool definately refreshed and revived me just wish we could of stayed longer. A special mention to Matt who helped us out big time with directions,how to get to and from everywhere, he was so so helpful and made us feel so welcome, my husband even hugged him to say thankyou.I Sprain my ankle and without even asking ice appeared and is there anything else we can do for you xxx thankyou for a wonderful stay I would highly recommended this hotel to everyone coming to New York

It didn't affect us this time as we stayed on the weekend, however previous times we were disappointed that the spa / pool wasn't open longer hours during the week so we couldn't use it to relax after our long flights and long days shopping. Maybe other people would appreciate this too if they have kids with them so they can use the pool more hours, just a thought as that's one of the main reasons we booked it the first time was because it had a pool/spa and alot don't in new york

The rooms are well-equipped with a spacious bathroom, and the check-in process is smooth with the option for a late check-out.

The restaurant at this place is fantastic, especially for breakfast.

No bar, restaurant or mini bar! Tub blocked....had to call for assistance at 10 pm to shut off tv! Definitly not worth $229

I loved the hotel, it was reasonably priced with excellent wi-fi. The location was quiet and a bus stop was minute walk from the venue. I dined minute walk from the hotel at The Drunken Munkey.

Excellent location very close to trains, restaurants, and Metropolitan Museum of Art. Attentive team from the check-in staff to the maids. I recommend this property, spent here good 3 nights

Incredibly, such an international hotel does'nt accept in payment travellers cheques of AMERICAN Express and demand payment by credit card which costs a 2,8 % extra charge for the customer! Travellers cheques are, after being contersigned, the same as bank notes. For that reason I will never more choose a Mariott establishment.
